Software used: SolidWorks, 3ds Max, Photoshop, Painter, pixeur, irfanview, LibreOffice calc. How this was produced:

Targeted a desired print size @ 300dpi using my target resolution calculator spreadsheet
Made a few abstract shapes in SolidWorks
Imported them into 3ds Max (you have to use the 32-bit version of at least max 2013 with the import file open in SolidWorks to do this)
Collapsed them to editable polys, and with SoulBurn scripts, painted them over a terrain with random scale and orientation, and applied random material IDs between 1-100
Applyied a custom multi-sub material with a hundred different fractal flame/winamp milkdrop textures that apply by randomized material id (embedded yet further in a composite material with an alpha/edge blend mask)
Rendered a gray under-painting and several layers of randomized material color over-paintings
Mucked around with those in so many different layers with color cloning palette knives and oil paint in Painter, and auto-cloning, erasing, blending in various layer modes, etc.
Mucked around with all those so many times in Photoshop
Mucked around with those in turn so many times in Painter

I wasn't pleased to revisit this work, and reworked it. The previous version:

I like the colors, texture, smears and general forms of this original better than my revised version, but I prefer clarity of form (even for something semi-abstract) over that. The original was so indistinctly formed as to be a pretty blur, which would better be incorporated as part of some other work.

I think I'd like even better something that harmonizes or interestingly combines the two. I may yet make a third revision.

Why four leading zeroes, and where are abstractions 0-9? The short answers are that maybe I've done abstract art before now, but I wouldn't necessarily post it on the web, and I expect to possibly make a four or five-digit number of abstract paintings in my lifetime. [Except now this is work 00001, because I've decided there's not always a clear line between abstract and representational in my work, and I'd rather number all my works, not just my ostensibly abstract work, and because I decided numbering starts with my published (if only self-published initially or finally) works at # 1. 2016-11-10 -RAH.] I'm also just ignoring the problem that my works could never number 6 digits, or if they do, the five-digit numbering scheme. If you are actually reading this, either I am dead and you were assigned this reading by a future art teacher–in which case I would encourage you not to let others decide for you what you must and must not like–or you are a very dear friend.]

This is the first that very well pleases me in this particular era of my view that I ever created anything abstract which I liked. Others I have been okay with. This took eight hours, and I could get that down to a process of one or two hours, and make anywhere from .5 to 10 or more of these per day (depending on scale or intent), and I intend to, and if I have some forty years of usefulness still ahead of me, maybe the math would work out to produce (as I said) a five-digit number of abstract paintings.

Um, yeah. See? Art. Artist. Have not done enough of this. Near to zero. (Except that ten is infinitely larger than zero, strictly). Will do more of this. Hecka lot more. With dedication, so many paintings is no sweat. You have no idea the fountains of color that have sprung before my mind's eye after painting this. Hearing the malcontent much? Me too. Little inner child artist is angry and sad that I never made so many of these. I'm paying attention, little child. He's also angry that people make a living selling prints of paintings ridiculously more simple than this to hospitals and hotels, while he (or rather, the grown-up version of him that holds him hostage) doesn't. Uh, where's my hotel sale? Going to look for it.

Snap! I forgot to sign this. Print will be signed. Unlimited mass-market editions. Hang this in every building on Earth, and say that you're sick of it, and yet I will rejoice that humanity overcame their inexplicable complacency with too much blankety-blank (literally!) beige, tan, white, or whatever. This argument holds also for Mr. Um . . . Mr. I Like Folksy Impressionist Buildings And Gardens That Happen to Reflect Light Like All Other Daytime Objects. Yeah. Him. I'm serious. Please. Put. Art. On. The walls in your buildings. Humanity. I rejoice in any wall that is not blank. Even if I happen not to like what's on it. I'm just glad that anyone decided they like any art, at all.

I horde all text. This is why. I found this buried in email I imported from ancient folders. In it, I troll my first internet service provider, Sisna.

I don't remember the context of this email. It was apparently a thing where you email a text and it posts on some web site somewhere. Sadly, the following was rejected. Back-posted here to the original date of send.

When I went to the Sisna website in Utah, you thought I was all dumb,

because you said, "You will be directed to the SISNA location nearest

you."  Or, I mean, your page did.  And your page represents you.  Are

you thinking I'm all dumb?  But, I hadn't clicked anything yet, and if I

had, I hadn't typed anything yet, so if I had clicked anything yet, I

hadn't typed anything yet, and I hadn't gone anywhere.  Therefore I

would not have gone anywhere yet, and didn't.  But, if I was wanting to

go to a Sisna website.  Isn't the internet all one?  Like, there isn't

any one page that is all on all over all networks.  I mean, I think your

page is at one computer.  So, really, if you are saying, the Sisna

website nearest me, don't you mean the one that is farthest from me at a

specific location, at the certain time that it is at your machine and I

am seeing it?  So, it's all really on one page.  There isn't any page

that is nearest me.  So don't make me think I'm dumb.  You're the one

that's dumb.  Man, listen to the way you talk.
Also other fun things are happenning at your site -- like all the news,

and stuff, but I don't really care about The Government or News About

Terrorism.  I'm pretty safe, here, at my computer.  Unless the porn

wants to get to me.  But I'm a good Religous Person, so "it doesn't",

and when it does, well, it's all on accident.  Like those lousy popups

at playboy.com.  I mean, really, who wants to go there?  I didn't.  So

anyway, about the news on Terrorism.  I don't really care about it, but

I wonder if Al Qaeda is trying to get to my machine.  Because I keep

getting all these popups, on, Zone Alarm, saying: "The firewall has

blocked Internet access to your computer (UDP Port 1026) from

61.143.182.138 (UDP Port 30110). Time: 10/2/03 2:11:02 AM"  And when I

do a reverse DNS lookup on that IP address, it says "unable to resolve

61.143.182.138" -- but don't you think that if the war in Afghanistan

was resolved, that we would be able to resolve that IP address?  I mean,

who are these terrorists, anyway?  And what do they want with my

machine?  And why can't our government trace their IP addresses?  Are

you not cooperating with the government?  I mean, the reverse DNS lookup

site is going through your internet site, or machine, isn't it?
So anyway, there are alot more of these IP addresses that I can't trace

to bad guys, but alot of them I can.  For example, the IP Address

62.94.66.99 resolves to: ip098-2-8.dialup.edisontel.com, a user on a

domain who scanned a port on my machine to see if it was open and they

could start transferring bad stuff, but I can't yet figure out what the

name of this Al Qaeda User means.  Here is a whole big list of the bad

guys trying to get to my machine, from Zone Alarms' port access blockage

These all happened while I was typing.  Lots of baddies are attacking

me, and there were thirty other port scans besides those above before I

started logging them to a text file.  It's silly, but at least I've got

a firewall.  But on one level, it stinks, and I'd rather they didn't

attack me, so it's time to download those security patches I've been not

downloading, and scan for the viruses I haven't been scanning for.  Did

you know that antivirus products, and even some windows maintenance

products, slow down your machine alot?  I saw it with my own programs.
When I said that Al Qaeda was trying to get to my computer, I didn't

necessarily mean so.  Just if they're bad.
Well, thanks for letting me speak, and if you need any more amusements,

don't look beyond your own page!  Ha, Ha!
