Wiki Meta Technical Notes to Myself
I strongly prefer Markdown for writing instead of the wiki syntax native to DokuWiki, and happily, the Commonmark plugin provides that.
To invoke the Commonmark parser for the render of any page, insert <!DOCTYPE markdown> at the start of the page, preferably on a line by itself.
Unless or until I find a hack to make the wiki consider every page as if it is markdown, unfortunately when you edit a section of a page the parser doesn't see that and so doesn't render markdown; a workaround for that is to temporarily copy that tag into a page section you edit when you click “preview.” You can do this with a “Markdown Docytype” button which the plugin adds to the end of the editor buttons row.
